Silk coated or silk laminated postcards (sometimes shortened to ”silk postcards”) are postcards with a very smooth matte lamination applied. This silk coating is significantly thicker and smoother than typical matte finish cards, which results in a luxurious effect. Suede postcards are similar, but suede is a matte lamination with a more velvet-like feel.

Whether planning to mail postcards for your business or use them in another way, creating a printed piece that stands out above the rest is important. At Vermillion Silk we print some of the highest quality postcards available with the combination of our high end offset presses, thick and premium card stock, and our smooth matte coatings. Larger pieces like our luxury postcards work great as invitation cards, holiday cards, handouts at events, etc.

If you are going to go through the trouble of mailing or handing out a larger postcard size printed piece, you want it to be one that really makes the recipient feel that they are receiving something special. In our opinion, if you are planning on printing some kind of cheaper looking flyer that is likely going to be thrown out and ignored, then it isn’t worth printing it at all.

Our silk, suede, and foil stamped silk postcards use the same thick card stock and luxury silk coating that we use on our business cards. Almost every option that is available for our luxury business cards, is available on our luxury postcard sizes as well. 4”x6”, 5”x7”, 10”x7” (folds to 5”x7”) allow for silk coating, suede coating, spot uv, foil stamping, or raised foil and raised gloss. Some of these options are also available on larger sizes like 6”x9”. Just because you don’t see it on our website directly, doesn’t mean we can’t do it.
